Flights to international destinations kick off from Strigino

Strigino International Airport (managed by Airports of Regions MC) started operating flights to international destinations. The first flight was fr om Yerevan on 13 February 2021. The opportunity to arrive in Nizhny Novgorod from the capital of Armenia by a direct scheduled flight was used by 92 passengers.
This is the first international route out of the Nizhny Novgorod air hub after a long break. By a decree of the Russian government the airport was authorized to reopen international flights on 08 February 2021.
One weekly flight to Yerevan has been scheduled on Fridays. The travel time is about three hours. The flights will depart from Strigino Airport at 23:30 and arrive at the Zvartnots airport of the Armenian capital at 03:25. The return flights will be operated on Saturdays, departing from Yerevan at 04:25 and landing in Nizhny at 06:20 (local time for each airport is indicated). The flights will be operated by Ikar Airlines using Embraer 190 planes with the seating capacity of 110 passengers.
The next international flight is also scheduled to the near abroad. Starting on February 20, the Nordwind Airlines will perform flights to Osh (Kyrgyzstan) on Saturdays. The flight will depart from Nizhny Novgorod at 23:55 and arrive in Osh at 06:45. The flight from Osh will depart at 09:00 Sundays and arrive in Strigino at 10:10. The Airlines will use Boeing 737 planes that seat 189 flyers.
As per Decree of Chief State Sanitary Inspector No. 22 dated 27 July 2020, citizens of the Russian Federation arriving by air shall fill in a special form on the Public Services resource before leaving for Russia (at the time of a ticket purchase or check-in for the flight).
Within three calendar days from the date of their arrival, citizens must undergo laboratory testing for COVID-19 by the PCR method and upload the results on a special form onto the Gosuslugi resource.
Strigino International Airport is taking measures to counter the spread of coronavirus infection in accordance with the recommendations of federal and regional authorities. In the passenger terminal it is necessary to:
- wear protective face masks and gloves;
- apply disinfectants on hands;
- keep a social distance of at least 1.5-2.0 metres;
- minimise the number of accompanying persons and lim it the stay at the airport to 2 hours.
