Nizhny Novgorod International Airport saw a new expansion of its motor fleet. The airfield service now has extra special vehicles for snow removal and passenger service department obtained a new minibus for servicing business passengers.
The vehicle park is supplemented by the second Schmidt TJS-630 jet sweeper (the first was purchased last winter) having clearing speed of up to 40 km/h, which in combination with high quality of cleaning is essential for the airport under heavy snowfalls. Special brushes can clear up to 5.2 meters of the runway surface in one pass. For reference: Schmidt is one of the world's leading manufacturers of snow cleaners for major airports and utility companies in Europe and Moscow.
Besides Schmidt jet sweepers, Strigino Airport utilizes universal sweeper JetBroom to remove snow and ice from the runway and apron. All in all, now for these purposes the airport can employ three units of modern imported vehicles, as well as 13 other vehicles and mechanical devices.
A 14-seater Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will be the second minibus to deliver business class passengers to the aircraft. New Mercedes is spacious, equipped with climate control with individual settings, comfortable seats and automatic door. In addition, two executive class Audis are also used to service business passengers.
