Strigino Airport Serviced Millionth Passenger

The Strigino International Airport (member of the Airports of Regions Holding) serviced a millionth passenger year-to-date. The figure of one million serviced passengers has been reached for the first time from relocation to the new terminal.

Alexei Tipashov, the passenger of A4-617 flight from Nizhniy Novgorod to Perm, became the jubilee passenger. The millionth passenger got the right of free visits to business lounges of the Strigino Airport throughout the year and gifts from the Azimuth Airline.

“This is the first time when I have won something,” Alexei Tipashov said. “Emotions are very interesting: I intended to fly to Perm and eventually turned out to be the millionth passenger in Strigino. Now I need to figure out the destination for our flight using the certificate from the Azimuth Airline. The gift from the airport has also become a nice surprise,” he added.
“One million passengers is indeed a milestone figure for Strigino,” says Efim Danilov, Deputy Executive Director of JSC Nizhniy Novgorod International Airport. “In the first instance, this is the measure of expansion of the route network. The airport is developing and our employees try to improve the service offered to Nizhniy Novgorod residents and guests of the region on a going basis.
Strigino serviced about one million passengers in ten months of 2018, which is 21% above the like figure in the last year. Record-breaking growth rates were noted in international destinations. Passenger traffic of overseas destinations totaled 288 thousand people in January - October of this year, having increased by 25% against the like period of prior year. Moscow, Antalya, Sochi, Simferopol and St. Petersburg made up the top five most popular destinations in Strigino. Aircraft departures from Strigino totaled about 14 thousand, with 23% increase over the year.
