The Strigino International Airport (member of the Airports of Regions Holding) was authorized to accommodate Airbus A330-200 passenger jets from December 12, 2018. This aircraft type is proactively used by leading domestic and international airlines. The airplane is a long-range and a wide-body one and makes possible to carry over 250 individuals.

The clearance was obtained in accordance with the act of airport readiness, agreed by the Federal Agency of Air Transport (Rosaviatsiya).

It is worth to note that accommodation of such aircraft by the airport reduces the carriage cost and improves the level of comfort for passengers. In 2018, after the second runway was commissioned, the airport started one-time accommodations of such long-range aircraft as Airbus A310 and А340, as well as Boeing 777. This has already been the third permanent authorization for a new air transport type obtained by the Strigino International Airport during the last two months. The Nizhniy Novgorod air harbor was authorized earlier to accommodate Boeing 747-400F and B747-8F freighters.
