Strigino International Airport serviced over 1.1 passengers in 2018

The Strigino International Airport (member of the Airports of Regions Holding) summarized results of operations in 2018. The overall passenger traffic of the air harbor surged by 18% as of 2018 year-end and amounted to more than 1.14m people. Domestic traffic surged 17% to 838 k passengers. The segment of international transportation surged by 22% against the background of proactive recovery of outbound tourism, primarily to Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam, and partial redistribution of the passenger traffic from Russian resorts thereto. Over 302 k people took advantage of international line services in 2018 in total. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Simferopol, and Samara were routes with the highest demand among domestic destinations. Antalya, Phuket, Nha Trang, Dalaman and Dubai enjoyed high popularity among passengers of the Nizhniy Novgorod airport among international flights. In 2018, the Strigino Airport consolidated its positions as a regional aviation center: passenger traffic on scheduled domestic flights bypassing Moscow soared by 30% and amounted to 42k passengers. Flights from Nizhniy Novgorod were made in 89 destinations last year, including 31 scheduled ones. The Nizhniy Novgorod airport cooperated with 65 air carriers in 2018. The ground operations service handled 9,183.7 tonnes of luggage (+17%) from January to December. Airlines completed 7,893 departures from Strigino in 2018. The bulk of passengers was carried on board of Airbus A320, Airbus A321, Boeing 737-800, Sukhoi Superjet 100 and Embraer E-170 aircraft.
