«Meals on Board» service becomes available for Strigino’s passengers

The passengers of Nizhny Novgorod International Airport can now choose dishes they want to take on board according to their liking. This week two airports of Airports of Regions Holding - Koltsovo (Ekaterinburg) and Strigino (Nizhny Novgorod) have launched a project to provide a new «Meals on Board» service.

The Nizhny Novgorod Airport’s partner for the project became Shocoladnitsa Coffee Shop, which has long worked at the airport. For the new service Shocoladnitsa has developed a special offer including about 70% of its total assortment range: a variety of fruit salads, lasagna and pasta, tiramisu and strudel, oatmeal and cottage cheese, pancakes with various fillings, cheesecakes, etc. In addition, there is a 10 percent discount on all «Meals on Board» service menu. You may find out about possible choices on the website.

The customer may make an order directly at the coffee shop or in advance by telephone, and receive and pay for it before departure at the airport. An important note: If you pick up «Meals on Board» in the coffee shops located in the airside international and domestic lounges, it is even possible to take drinks and soups on board.* The meals are packed in lunch boxes.

«Our company, together with the catering operators at Nizhny Novgorod and Ekaterinburg Airports, sought to create a new convenient service for passengers. Quite a lot of passengers arrive at the terminal shortly before departure and would like to take freshly prepared hot meals on board the aircraft, the dishes of their choice,» said Airports of Regions MC’s Director for Non-Aviation Commerce Tatiana Batenyova. «In addition, this service will compensate for the lack of catering on board the aircraft during short flights, provide extra meals for long trips, and also on "Meals on Board" menu you can find the dishes that children love. »

* According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recommendations, liquids shall be carried on board in the hand baggage in containers with a capacity no greater than 100 ml and a total capacity of up to a liter. But as the retail stores in the airside areas and Duty Free shops are located beyond the pre-flight check points and their goods have already been checked by aviation security, the restrictions on the amount of liquids purchased in these areas are removed.
