General Contract for the first phase construction of a new passenger terminal at the Strigino Airport including Utilities and Infrastructure will be concluded with the Czech Company «PSJ». A BID application of this construction organization has been seen by the purchasing commission of International Airport Nizhny Novgorod JSC as one which most fully conforms to requirements of the tender documentation.
The procedure for the selection of the general contractor was started in October 2013. It was performed in two stages. During qualifications the International Airport Nizhny Novgorod JSC received applications from 23 applicants, 14 companies of them were qualified. The main stage of selection was held in format of competitive negotiations, which began in December 2013. There were seven companies who were allowed to competitive negotiations: Czech branch of PSJ JSC, Compact ZAO (St. Petersburg), Alfa Stroy OOO (Yekaterinburg), Research and Production Association Mostovik LLC (Omsk), representative office of Yenigun Insaat Sanayi ve Ticart Anonim Sirkti (Turkey), Management Company Group 100 (Moscow), RASEN Story Trend (Moscow).
– In the context of the poorness of existing infrastructure made in Soviet times it is difficult to maintain increased passenger volumes at the appropriate level, - noted executive director of Strigino Airport Alexandr Sinelnikov. - Due to implementation of the most modern technologies the new passenger terminal will be able to provide services to passengers and air companies at the qualitatively new level, and also it will be a powerful motivating factor for the economic development of the region.

It should be recalled that the development program for Nizhny Novgorod’s Airport includes the construction of a new passenger terminal with an area of 27 thousand sq.m and its commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2015. The acceptance rate of the new passenger terminal will amount to more than 1,5 million people per year. The terminal will be equipped with 4 passenger boarding bridges and other modern and technologically advanced equipment. Volume of investment is more than 3 billion roubles.
