January 7 was the most popular among Nizhniy Novgorod residents and city guests, when more than 3.1 thousand passengers used the airport services. January 1 was traditionally the calmest day. Strigino serviced 926 passengers during that day, up 1.5 times in comparison to January 1, 2018.
Domestic flights to Moscow, Sochi and Rostov (a new flight destination) remained popular throughout the holidays. Higher demand of Nizhniy Novgorod residents for traveling over regional routes (bypassing Moscow) by scheduled flights of air carriers should be noted. The Strigino Airport serviced 3.5 thousand of such passengers from December 28 to January 8, which is 11.7% above the last-year figure.
As far as international holiday destinations are concerned, residents of Nizhniy Novgorod proactively traveled from Strigino to Thailand, Vietnam and the UAE.
To recap, the air harbor of Nizhniy Novgorod hosted 338 flights from December 28 up to January 8.
